What’s an Energy Report?

An Energy Report is the second part of the Home Report. It is designed to help people be more aware of the energy efficiency of a property.

The report provides details about estimated running costs, present and future. Energy Reports also suggest ways in which a property’s environmental impact could be improved.

Energy Reports are also known as Energy Performance Certificates, or EPCs.

How long is an Energy Report valid for?

An Energy Report in Scotland is valid for 10 years from the point of issue. The validity remains intact no matter how many times the property is sold in that time.

We would advise that if any changes to the fabric of the building are made, an updated report needs to be carried out. These changes could include things like:

New Windows
